Cloud 2.0

About two years ago Google claimed the name for Cloud 2.0 and I'd like to see where it is now? NB: Very important understanding about the topic is historically, the Cloud (1.0) was driven by CapEX vs. OpEX, as the main focal point in Cloud Economics ( not by innovative Technology ) and that's why we've seen all spectra of ugly solutions if the deployment, e.g. VMs, C ontainers and etc, and th is is exactly the source of Mega-Bills for Mega-Watts in power consumption for many many data-centers . Now, the real question: How Cloud-2.0 is goin g to address this overhead in the technology???  so far, it is still containers and VMs even for lambda-functions. It is the time for new computational model?, if so, it is the time start working on it.  mr

Goodbye SPARC architecture and R.I.P.

I spent last 18 years mainly in the development for SPARC . Let me to be more precise, it was specifically for  SPARC64 and in general for all other SPARC architectures. Well, SPARC was a big enough epoch of the influence not only for me, but for generations of students, scientists and engineers. The SPARC epoch might be seen as a similar epoch to the epoch of DIGITAL , at least both of them are vanished in the same way: New hands can't hold... so, it looks like the SPARC/SPARC64 epoch is over. Alas, poor the SPARC International!  Now, I am drawing the line, it will be  TK2  line for me. Now, who's coming? It is a new RISC? Is it RISC-V  or it is  new WAVE ? 15th May 2018. MR
